Katherine grew up in the poor district of Balerio Estacio. Because of the poverty, there is hopelessness instead of prospects for the future. Even being able to graduate from school is often beyond the imagination of the people in the neighborhood. As a teenager, Katherine started attending our prevention workshops in her neighborhood. There, she not only enjoyed the various workshops and activities, but also gained a perspective for her future through the support and encouragement of the local team.
After graduating from school, she began her teacher training and started helping in the prevention work in Abdón Calderón, Ecuador. Now she has successfully completed her studies.
In an interview she told something about the prevention work and her vision for it. Here you can find the interview.
