More than 100 visitors attended the celebration. Besides people from the entire surrounding region, the sister church from Guayaquil came as well. Part of the opening program was dancing, eating together and the laying the foundation for the first pillar of the next construction phase. One of the construction workers reported how he came into contact with our work through the construction work and how his life changed as a result.

In addition to the residential house and community centre, a café and a carpenter's workshop are to be built on the site. This will not only be a contact point for people in need, but will also create jobs.
