Baking, Travelling and more...

Peru Ecuador Street Children Paraguay

It's currently the long summer break in Peru. The vacation programme for the children in the Transformation House is great fun for everyone. Instead of lazing around, they try their hand at baking, for example, and learn how to make fragrant bread rolls. Buen provecho.

The summer programs of our prevention projects and Transformation Houses in South America are much more than just a meaningful leisure activity. They offer the children safe havens and places of refuge, give them the opportunity to try out new things and provide plenty of fun and fellowship.
For example, the children in Paraguay travel on a virtual journey. A different country is on the program every week. The children learn lots of interesting facts about this country and receive a big stamp in a giant passport at the end. This opens their eyes to the big wide world.
In Ecuador, parents do not allow their children to leave the house in the poor district of Balerio Estacio during vacation time, as gang fights rage on the streets and drug cartels are up to no good. But the children are allowed to come to our summer programs because their parents know that they are well looked after and protected by us.
