The Current Situation

Bolivia has about 9.4 million inhabitants. 50% are children and adolescents. Until 2019, Evo Morales was the president, focused on his indigenous roots, customs, and rituals, as well as on implementing socialist ideas. This has increased the tensions between the poorer population of the mountain areas and the more prosperous provinces in the South East of the country that may even lead to a split of the country.

Our Location

Sucre in the province of Chuquisaca is the official national capital, while the government seat is located in La Paz. With its white colonial buildings, Sucre is considered the most beautiful city of South America. But at a closer look, these pretty facades reveal abject poverty and misery. Street children are everywhere; you can see begging women with their babies and continuously growing slum areas at the city fringes.
