In Third-Stage Houses, former addicts practice how to apply in their everyday life what they have learned in rehab. Since the leaders of the Third-Stage Houses have themselves completed rehab and follow-up and are now in regular employment, they can easily put themselves in the shoes of the former addicts and show possible solutions.
